Established in 1964, the Narrabri Rugby Club has competed in the Central North competition for 50 years. Known as the Blue Boars and playing in Blue and Black colours, the club draws players from across the greater Narrabri district and is built on a strong sense of camaraderie and mateship. The town of Narrabri is nestled along the Namoi River at the foot of the Nandewar Ranges in New South Wales, Australia.
The Blue Boars play in the Central North Rugby Competition within Country NSW, the largest Rugby province in the world. In 2018, the Central North Competiton will form a Joint Venture with neighbouring zone, New England, to form a 14 club competition across First, Reserve and 3rd grades as well as Womens and Colts (Under 17’s and 19’s). As well as being consistently competitive in Central North the Blue Boars have a strong tradition as a touring club, both within Australia and internationally, giving our players the chance to experience the great opportunities the game of Rugby has to offer. Recently we have embarked on an undefeated Grand Slam tour of England, Ireland, Scotland and Wales in 2013 and to Adelaide in 2016.
The Blue Boars make their home at Dangar Park, Boheena St Narrabri, which offers a fantastic venue for the whole family to enjoy an afternoon at the Rugby with full bar and canteen facilities and a fantastic atmosphere during and after matches.
The Club competes in all open grades (First, Reserve and 3rd Grades) as well as juniors (Under 17s). Trainings are held at Dangar Park on Tuesday and Thursday nights at 6:30pm and anyone interested in being involved in the club as a player or support staff is most welcome to attend.
